Trumpeter Swans to be Temporarily Relocated

The Woodbury County Conservation Board has three Trumpeter Swans on display at Little Sioux Park near Correctionville, Iowa. These swans are part of a reintroduction effort in Iowa, and they live at the Little Sioux Park Lake year-round. On Monday, December 12 the Trumpeter Swans at Little Sioux Park Lake will be temporarily relocated to Nora Springs, Iowa, by Iowa DNR officials.  The low water levels at Little Sioux Park will not allow the aerator to function properly, leaving the swans with little to no open water.  The lake levels will be reevaluated regularly by conservation officials and when water levels are adequate, the swans will return to Little Sioux Park.
