Saturday, February 3: Saw-whet Owl Adventure, Moorehead Park, Ida Grove, Iowa. Meet at the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center at 8:30 a.m. to carpool to Ida Grove for this owl-viewing adventure. Our gracious host Don Poggensee will meet us at Moorehead Park and be our guide for the day. These petite owls make their winter home in Moorehead Park, often roosting in evergreen trees. They are typically very cooperative and you are able to view and photograph them at close range. Bring your camera, tripod, binoculars and dress for the weather. This is an outdoor field trip. Please pre-register by calling the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center at 712-258-0838. We have limited space in our vehicles so call to claim your spot. If you prefer to drive on your own also pre-register so we can coordinate times and locations to meet.
