Retirement Reception for Director Rick Schneider

Please join us as we honor Rick Schneider, Woodbury County Conservation Board Director, at a retirement reception on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center.

From March 1975 to December 2017, Rick has been the longest-serving Director for the Woodbury County Conservation Department.  Come help us celebrate and thank him for nearly 43 years of county conservation service!

Cabins To Remain Open Year Round

The cabins at Snyder Bend Park and Southwood Conservation Area will now be available for rental throughout the fall and winter seasons. The Woodbury County Conservation Board decided at their November meeting to keep the cabins at these two parks open due to numerous requests from citizens wishing to use them during the off season for hunting and fishing trips or family gatherings.  The cabins at Little Sioux Park will remain closed November 1st through April 30th as usual.

Rental reservations are taken online at If you have any questions, please contact the Woodbury County Conservation Board office at (712) 258-0838.
